Happy Holidays Brunchies!
I know that this year everyone is dealing with things a little differently. There will be no longer be long lines of people in tents and law chairs outside stores on Black Friday eve, or endless store adds that get us out of bed at 4am for that new flat screen. This year is different, so we should think differently too.
We here at Brunch lifestyle wanted to give you all a tool to support small businesses locally. Our little Rochester is filled talented entrepreneur's that deserve our support! We have personally read through every website on our list below and they have touched us in a way that we knew we had to feature them! Small businesses have suffered in 2020, lets give them some Holiday cheer and order small before prime.
SHOP WOMEN OWNED LOCAL BUSINESS:
On the table today to start was a Jose' bean III which was a Nitro cold brew coffee, reposado tequila and coffee liqueur. For you coffee lovers out there this one is for you! It goes down very smooth, perfect pairing for any meal, savory or sweet. Also on the table was the classic tequila sunrise mimosa, can't go wrong there. We finished off with their drink special, Horchata. Which is a traditional Mexican rice drink. I would highly recommend stopping in at the bar for this one, it was so delicious.
Now onto the main event!
On the table today to start was a Trio of salsa, guacamole and queso with chips. The chips were so fresh and warm seasoned with the perfect spices. Every Mexican place puts out a trio on their menu, but I really think this one is a stand out. Especially the queso. It had a light spice, was super creamy and flavorful. That with the seasoning on the chip made for the perfect pairing.
Now onto brunch! On the table we had the "Chikin n' Churros" which was as delicious as it sounds. It was like an elevated childhood carnival fantasy. The creamy inside of the churro melts in your mouth while the crispy and spiciness in the chicken tender really balanced it all out making for a delicious bite. I really enjoyed that dish and would order it again. Also on the table was the "El Benny" which was a perfectly runny egg amazingly seasoned breakfast potatoes paired with a perfectly spicy queso dip, some enchilada sauce and salsa fresco, all on a perfectly toasted open faced torta roll. Everything on the plate was so delicious and would definitely get again.
We really enjoyed our time at Silver Iguana. The owners sat with us, went out of their way to ask questions for feedback and to make sure we had an amazing experience, which we absolutely did. We love supporting hard working small business owners and can't wait to come back again!

Amanda here and today were talking about Trio!
Trio is this amazing spot located on Winton road in Brighton. Their proud owner Michelle has worked very hard to make this a fun spot to go and indulge in incredible food/drink, great ambiance, and even some dancing.
Recently Trio started their Sunday brunch so you know the Brunch lifestyle girls had to check it out, twice! We sat out on the beautiful patio and it was an amazing experience! The patio is decorated so beautifully for summer, with flowers, garden lights and socially distanced tables.
On the table today was a couple signature breakfast cocktails, a delicious strawberry sangria and a cereal cocktail! The cereal cocktail tasted like a boozy strawberry milk with a fruity pebble rimmed glass! It was so amazing and such an original idea. I would definitely order it again!
Now on to the main event... the food! Vanessa and I have been doing this for a while now. We know what we like and little things were looking for when we try a dish. Those things include, originality, perfect execution and flavor. The two meals we ordered really had that and we were both very impressed.
I indulged in the chicken and waffles and they were very well done. The fluffly belgium waffles were topped with a deicious spicy honey syrup. The chicken was the star of the dish for me. It was cooked and breaded to perfection, the skin was golden brown and it melted in my mouth with each bite. This was one of the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. It reminded me of something you would get down south, just very authentic. I cannot wait to come back and order that again! Vanessa got the steak eggs benedict. I heard her say something that I've never heard before from her in all the times she has ordered eggs benedicts. "The steak is cooked perfectly"!!! That is some high praise coming from her, trust me! The egg was poached perfectly as well. That combined with a light hollandaise sauce really made this dish a win! In addition to this we also had a waffle with a cool berry campout on top and a delicious, light yogurt fruit parfait. Our stomachs were very satisfied!
We had the best experience at Trio and cannot wait to go back!
Please continue to support local by trying new spots in our Rochester community, we at Brunch lifestyle have tried hard over the past few months to keep our page filled with all the local menu suggestions we can find!
Huge shout out to Trio's owner Michelle for being a bad ass women who is thriving in the local industry! Keep it up girl!
Well brunchies! That's it for this week!
until next time.
